Public holidays in Pakistan

Muslim festivals are timed according to local sightings of various phases of the moon. During the lunar month of Ramadan that precedes Eid al-Fitr, Muslims fast during the day and feast at night. Normal business schedules may be interrupted as a result. Christian holidays are observed by Christians only.

February 5th: Kashmir day

May 1st: Labor Day

March 23rd: Pakistan Day

August 14th: Independence Day

Eid al Fitr (End of Ramadan): According to the sighting of the moon

Eid ul Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice): 2 months and 10 days after Eid al Fitr

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (Birth of the Prophet): On the 12th Day of Rabi ul Awal

Ashoura: On the tenth day of Muharram

December 25th: M. Ali Jinnah Birthday
